Proposal for a Living Indigenous Museum

8 April 202611:00 AM

Nepal is home to 59 Indigenous Nationalities, more than 129 languages, and a rich diversity of cultures and traditions. During a Zero Hour address in the House of Representatives, I proposed the establishment of a Living Indigenous Museum as a space where Indigenous languages, traditions, and cultural knowledge are actively practised and passed on across generations. I highlighted that such a museum could strengthen cultural tourism, create sustainable economic opportunities, enhance Nepal's global identity, and reconnect younger generations and the Nepali diaspora with their cultural roots. I urged the Government to consider this proposal as part of Nepal's broader efforts to preserve and promote its living Indigenous heritage.
