To:

House of Representatives,

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of Nepal's economy, contributing significantly to employment, innovation, and economic growth. While the Government has introduced various grants, training programmes, startup support, and other initiatives to strengthen the sector, many entrepreneurs, particularly young people and women, remain unaware of these opportunities.

During a Zero Hour address in the House of Representatives, I highlighted that Nepal's challenge is not the absence of support programmes, but the lack of accessible information about them. Strengthening entrepreneurship requires not only effective policies but also effective communication so that government support reaches the people it is intended to benefit.

Recommendations:

  1. Improve public awareness of government grants, subsidies, training programmes, and startup support.
  2. Develop a centralised and user-friendly platform for information on entrepreneurship support.
  3. Strengthen communication through digital platforms, social media, and local government offices.
  4. Establish dedicated information and support services for entrepreneurs.
  5. Regularly review how government programmes are communicated to ensure they reach intended beneficiaries.
